Balloons over Ballard
The first big Tuesday in Ballard is in full swing as bright green, blue, yellow, and pink balloons flood the streets. Tonight will feature many live performances at local night spots and even a DJ at Bergen Place Park. Should be fun. The Design Hovie Studios designers will be out in full force taking photos for inballard.com so say hi if you see us.

Tuesdays in Ballard Maps
Design Hovie Studios is fully engulfed in the Tuesdays in Ballard campaign. This week we finished up the posters and walking maps and are updating the inballard.com site daily in preparation for the June 23rd kick off event. The map was a great exercise in information design but I feel we made a very full collection (71 businesses) all fit nicely in a pocket sized walking map.

POPCOM brand identity
Design Hovie Studios has created the new brand identity for POPCOM a marketing and promotions company located in Naples, Italy. Playing off the excitement generated by POPCOM organized events, the new logo incorporates exclamation points strategically within the POPCOM name. Even at that, the overall look remains clean and modern in keeping with the style and sensibilities of the European market.
Concierge Alliance of Napa Valley
At Design Hovie Studios we recently completed the new brand identity for the Concierge Alliance of Napa Valley. The new brand gives the alliance a refined look that is in keeping with their clients and allows them to better pursue opportunities in the Napa Valley and surroundings.
In Ballard Merchants Association
The inballard.com and Tuesdays in Ballard ball continues to roll! Last week we officially formed the In Ballard Merchants Association, a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization to oversee the Tuesdays in Ballard campaign. On Tuesday, June 2, we had our first merchant meeting. It was attended by over 50 Ballard merchants, as well as the Ballard News Tribune and MyBallard.com news organizations. At the meeting we unveiled the new Tuesdays in Ballard logo designed by Design Hovie Studios and provided information on the campaign. The response has been wonderful and many Ballard businesses are joining the campaign. Deadline for merchant sign up is June 9 and after that we will have a much better idea of the scope of things that will be able to be done this summer. All very exciting.
